All my bedding and towels for the bathroom are now linen, I have been slowly replacing them all over the past couple of years as its simply the best sustainable organic fabric you can use. As I said earlier my bedroom is peaceful, I like it to be a clutter free calming space for me to feel rested so the colour and feel of my bedding is very important. I like soft muted colour palettes: greys, off whites and natural oatmeal like this one from MagicLinen that work perfectly in my space. Not only do MagicLinen make the softest linen bedding they also produce sumptuous bathing and natural table linens, curtains and clothing all in exquisite colour palettes.
I like to assess what I have in my wardrobe each season, evaluate what I have and haven’t been wearing, have a little clear out and add a few new key pieces that will take me through into the Summer months. Shirt dresses on the other hand are so versatile, I was kindly gifted a beautifully cut, indigo linen shirt dress by LinenMe that I know will be worn and worn through this season and beyond for its sheer versatility. Along with their simple style this season I may try one of their summer jumpsuits for the Summer months. I simply adore this brand for it’s suitable style and a strong garment to add to my capsule wardrobe this season.
In the chapter Natural Living Spaces we see how sustainability and style can go hand in hand in each of our living spaces we use every day from the kitchen, living room, bathroom and utility. Being aware of the impact that we are having on our planet is a start but this book gives you many practical ideas to make the changes for a green life but in a gentle, sustainable and stylish way. Natural Living Style will be a great source of reference for me, alongside being a beautiful book that will take pride of place on my coffee table to fill me with inspiration for many moons to come. Wallpaper is definitely making a come back and has been for a few years now, technology and design advancements have made decorating our homes far easier than it used to be and bringing with it an edge and boldness that we wouldn’t have embraced a few years ago. MuralsWallpaper are a UK based firm with their finger firmly on the design pulse of crafting amazing murals and wallpapers that make even me, a wallpaper wallflower, want to have a go! Digital print also means that anything is possible and they are continually creating innovative designs at the forefront of interior design. I selected a few that I knew were to my taste, the water colour and concrete designs plus the calming elements of a misty forest, all of which create a wonderfully simple modern rustic look that I am always drawn to.
