Glitter Eggs

To start things off, slather those babies with a layer of Mod Podge… I found that too much Mod Podge made the end result rough and uneven, while too little Mod Podge made it difficult for the glitter to adhere. At this point they will be cute-ish, but definitely need a repeat of the whole process: That means another layer of  Mod Podge and another glitter bath. A little tip for keeping this whole affair slightly less chaotic and avoiding washing your hands 45,000 times:  Use one hand for Mod Podging and one hand for glitter rolling (kinda like when you dredge and fry chicken). So far we’ve had fun decorating the house with glitter filled baskets, throwing them as hard as we can at each other (boys!!), and using them as cute little Easter photo props…

DIY: Upholstered Piano Bench

To begin, you will need to unscrew or remove the top piece of the piano bench from the base. Depending on how thick your foam is, you will need 3 to 6 extra inches on each side to wrap around. To do this, I simply laid my foam and bench top on the fabric and measured out a few extra inches for wrapping. After your fabric is cut, once more place the foam piece and the bench top centered on the fabric.

Bathroom Renovation

I plan to share some shiplap tips in a future post as we’ve done multiple areas of our home with different techniques, so I won’t go into the process details here, but in a nutshell, John used 1/2″ thick, 5 1/2″ wide, MDF boards I struggled a bit to find the perfect light fixture that was a little bit country, a little bit rock …more like a little bit industrial and a little bit modern farmhouse. These floating shelves were the perfect earthy element the bathroom was lacking and gave me a fun space to decorate with greenery and a few meaningful items we’ve picked here and there over the years.

Second star to the right…

I truly was questioning my sanity as I sewed late into the night on more than one occasion, but the look on my sweet Peter’s face as he saw this picture of him “flying” was worth all the effort. Despite my wishing with all my might that this crew of mine truly never grows up, I’m not sure how many more years I’ll link what I can below for anyone interested in their costumes, but most of this is homemade as showcased by poor Tink’s fragile dress…despite a whole lot of “wardrobe” malfunctions However, if you are wanting a little Disney Halloween inspiration or just to look at some pretty darn cute kids, scroll on through our own version of Neverland… Happy Halloween from Peter Pan and Company!
