Real talk about the art & science of relationships and intimacy
We make sure we’re constantly saying lovely things to each other, and that the other person knows just how much we appreciate having them in our lives. We’re not saying shave your legs every day or walk around in a three piece suit – but take pride in how you look. You’ve probably worked out by now that we’re not too keen on domestic chores (we’re not the only ones, right? ). We’re thankful for it every single day.
How do you transition from wanting to just be by yourself, to actively putting yourself out there and welcoming in a new relationship? My partner and I kinda ‘miss’ each other sexually. His way of approaching me for physical intimacy doesn’t turn me on… How do you create equality in a relationship when it comes to household management?
But as time passes you look around and notice: Your passion project sits half finished at the back of the cupboard. You haven’t seen your besties in months (That regular catch-up you had going has stopped, or worse – just rolled on without you). You don’t feel like you anymore. So when I finally paused to look around 8 years later, it wasn’t just a few months or a couple of years that I’d been losing myself for – it was almost an entire DECADE.
While I had learnt that a woman ovulates at around day 14 of their cycle, I didn’t feel very confident in that knowledge. As M. D. Jerilynn Prior points out, a common sign of ovulation is sore breasts, specifically on the sides of your breasts beneath your armpit, in the second half of your cycle. It’s caused by progesterone, the hormone that your body produces after ovulation, and it can be one of the many signs you monitor for fertility tracking. You can’t work out the exact day you’ve ovulated judging from sore breasts alone, but it can be a confirmation that your ovaries are working as they should.
