I’m totally on top of my to-do list, but with everything that’s happening all-around at year’s end, it can make it harder to prioritize what I “need” to do, versus what can wait, or be removed from my list altogether. We are so complacent with hoping for the best in our lives that we forget to MAKE the best happen. We must review exactly what our difficulty is and desire to want to change whatever is prohibiting us from achieving our goals. We should also ensure that we check ourselves daily to assure that we are following through with the changes that we have decided to carry out. Start with small goals whether it’s gaining a better understanding of a friend, increasing a grade or score, building a stronger relationship with your friends or family members or even strengthening your relationship with God.
We are always searching for the best ways to make our outer selves stand out, shine, and glimmer while the inside of us is more like rust, tarnished and even cloudy. We never seem to forget to shop for new clothing, shoes, and jewelry but neglect to shop for new and improved ideas, ways to better ourselves while learning the best methods to achieve our goals. I challenge you to a 6-month challenge of taking the proper steps to creating a new you. I want you to learn how to rid yourself of unnecessary habits, limited spirituality, build a closer relationship with yourself and simply beautify from within.
If we take the time to learn our likes, dislikes, ways to cope, and ways to lift our own spirits, then and only then will we gain the ingredients for a better love of ourselves! Loving yourself starts with putting a stop to hateful thoughts, extreme criticism, refusal to take care of yourself and accepting the bare minimum from friends, associates, and even romantic relationships. Loving you is beginning the process of appreciating the attributes you have to offer and not placing so much stock in what others have to say about you. Truly loving yourself starts one day at a time.
