This magical indoor garden wedding at Garfield Park Conservatory holds a very special place in my (Kirsty’s) heart. Our beyond stunning bride is the celebrated Stationary Designer and Calligrapher Emily of Emily Rose Ink
With the exception of giving us some key adjectives and feelings they wanted emulated in every facet of of the project (Formal, Ethereal, Modern, White), Brandy and Todd allowed us to make our best recommendations for the flow, design and layout of the gorgeous Langham Chicago for their 100 guests. It was such a small touch, but we were OBSESSED with the small tie cut out in the corner for “black tie The marble look tied into our day of event stationery through the escort cards, menus and the absolutely stunning ruffled cake by Flourish Cake Studio. Flanking the dance floor to either side of the room, long feasting tables of elevated orchids, feathers and roses accentuated the gorgeous rows of windows and beautiful architecture of the ballroom.
Good thing creating an outdoor wedding day feel inside the Harold Washington Library Winter Garden makes designing outdoor style with an indoor weather guaranty is easy! Guests entered the Winter Garden through the piazza gates that were festooned with blooms meant to feel like a small local flower stand and a water station on a sweet cart from Jewell Catering. A truly stunning and personal cake by Elysia Root that incorporated a rice krispie treat lemon tree sitting atop some of our scholarly couple’s favorite tomes was the perfect centerpiece for the room. Arlen Music’s Indigo rocked the reception and we wrapped floral bouquets in brown paper from our “flower stand” so guests could take a small piece of the beauty of the evening home with them!
Chelsea and her wedding party prepped at the Publishing House B&B with the help of Solo Salon and Rare Bird Beauties before getting into their thoughtfully coordinated, yet unique bridesmaid gowns. At the gardens Andrew and Chelsea’s chuppah was overflowing with an abundance of colorful, summery floral and Cornelia McNamara Flowers also surrounded their with delphinium so it seemed as if they were standing in the middle of a friend of flowers. Fresh produce accented the floral centerpieces, mismatched china and vintage glassware topped the farm tables, and Steracle Press sourced a handmade paper with seeds, dried floral and lavender for the menus. It was truly an honor to work with such a wonderful family who not only had so much fun with the details of the wedding day, but also cared greatly about supporting women owned businesses and locally sourcing items.
