My Front Yard Transformation

We moved into our new home about a year ago, and the previous owners didn’t really make gardens a priority. Thankfully our friends at Bradford Greenhouses Garden Gallery helped out. With COVID-19, I was worried about having to go into the stores with long lineups, and I was also worried that I’d pick all the wrong stuff. Check out the video and see how we changed the front yard, giving my home a much needed pop.

Quarantine Cooking

We’re sharing some of our favourite food we’ve cooked up while in quarantine, but a warning: these are definitely not healthy but so worth the calories. People were unsure if ordering take out was still safe (I can wholeheartedly tell you the food service industry prides itself on cleanliness), and we started to think of ways to make more meals at home. We would still order from a local restaurant once a week to support those hard working people, but I was making soooooo many meals at home with both guys home. It would be anything we tried at a restaurant in the past, or something they’ve always wanted to try, and we’d make that meal together.

How to Stretch Your Weekly Groceries

I usually save the frozen fruit for smoothies, but thawed frozen fruit with some yogurt on top is delicious and is my go-to now. Granted, back then it was minute rice, but now that I understand food better, I’d suggest making rice in the rice cooker or instant pot on a Sunday and keeping it for quick meals through the week. Plus, if you look at the grocery store the Beyond Meat products are cheaper than regular meat right now, depending on where you shop. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I noticed Tuesday and Thursday mornings are great times to shop.
