Finally found a bit of time to blog again. I think this is the most I’ve fallen behind on posting an Instabits entry

Awarded the MEXT Scholarship and moved to Japan to pursue my PhD at Kyoto University Being a MEXT scholar is a long time dream I didn’t think was possible. Japan is pretty close to the Philippines and my parents (especially my dad) is always going on about how much they miss Ezra and me, so I’m expecting more visits this coming year before I left for Japan, the girls and I went to I’m I was able to squeeze a quick visit to the Philippines for the new year, so I got to celebrate the end of 2018 with friends and family Hands down, the best part of 2018 was all the people I met.

I didn’t post any photos with the happy family, but here’s a shot of Ate Kathy, Ate Mariyah, Ate Pinky and I at the waiting area. We’ve been online friends for about 10 years but we’ve never actually met in person, so we figured this was a great time to finally do that. So of course I grabbed the opportunity to take photos of my place without the usual mess: The main room (bedroom/living room/dining room/everything room). The only new things in my room are probably the TV (because my parents and I bought that on my 3rd day in Japan and we didn’t know any better) and my IH stove.

He showed us this nice place where students can relax in between classes Found these instant noodles with Pikachu’s face on it at the supermarket near my dorm Veena, one of my dorm-mates (who also happened to be my churchmate), returned to the Philippines this month. This place is so peaceful and beautiful, and it’s only ~3km from my old dorm. As you may know, I love my dorm, but it’s really not practical to live so far from my lab, especially since my experiments run really late sometimes. It was a time when I knew that I had already passed my entrance exam, and the new semester was still a month away.
