California's new mandated EMT training

It was recently announced that California EMTs must go through a more advanced training in order to provide the skills closer to that of a paramedic. According to the California Emergency Medical Services Authority, this advanced training will require EMTs to learn to administer epinephrine, a glucometer, and naloxone. These skills include the administration of epinephrine and naloxone, the use of a glucometer, the use of aspirin, a CPAP, and an I-Gel advanced airway device. At ProTransport-1 we have partnered with Mountain Valley EMS to offer this training to our Central Valley crews with training dates available starting mid July, and we are in the process of being able to provide this training company wide to both our EMTs and external students.

Blake Robinson earns promotion to Executive Director of Business Development

ProTransport-1 is pleased to announce that former Director of Business Development, Blake Robinson, has been promoted to the Executive Director of Business Development for Covalent Health. Blake has played an integral role in the company’s strategic growth in Northern California since first joining ProTransport-1 in 2010 as a Business Development Representative. In his time with the company, he has been an influential force creating and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare facilities and helping to create partnerships which exceed that of the typical vendor-facility bond. In his new role, Blake will be responsible for implementing growth, maintenance, and retention strategies throughout all of California in alignment with Covalent Health’s overall business plan.

National EMS Week: Beyond the Call

The theme of the 45th annual National EMS Week, running from May 19 through 25, is Beyond the Call. There is so much that happens beyond the sacrifice and care of responding to calls for help. Volunteering in their spare time, organizing innovative community programs, or even helping a patient’s family during an emergency – EMS professionals so often go beyond the call of duty. Our employees are the lifeblood of our organization, and we would not be who we are today without the dedication and care of our EMS professionals.

National Nurses Week: Thank You, Nurses

We’re in the midst of Nurses Week, a time for everyone to reflect on the vast contributions nurses make to the medical world each and every day. At Covalent Health we see firsthand the positive impacts nurses make, from our own amazing CCT RNs to the dedicated nurses our emergency medical professionals work with daily. National Nurses Week is celebrated each year in May, beginning on National Nurses Day on May 6 and ending on May 12, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. We here at Covalent Health – ProTransport-1, Century Ambulance Service, PRN Ambulance, ATS Medical Services and Priority One –
