I lie about this sometimes… 👇 a friend once said they lie about their dog’s age to strangers because if they say the real age they get the pity “awww…” and I decided to adopt that when I’m not feeling up to talking about it 🐶 people ask me ALL the time when I’m out with Theo how old he is, thinking I’ll say 1 or 2, but he’s 12, actually 12.5 🐣 that’s a REALLY hard pill to swallow for me. I got Theo when he was 10 weeks old, I was 18, & it was just 2 months before Austin & I started dating 😔 which means…I’ve basically never done anything in adult life without him, even writing this is…f**king hard 🗺️ traveling for work without him is really tough, but whenever I can, I bring him with me! 🏖️ Theo LOVES to travel, loves boats, car rides, the beach, the lake, sitting on his own chair at restaurants - basically he’s just a little fur hooman if you want to travel with your dog internationally, here’s a few tips: ✈️ I like the plane carriers that are also backpacks, doubles as a bag to walk around/hike with him 💺 get seats at the front of back of the plane so you’re not over the wing, it scared Theo the first time! 👩‍⚕️ talk to you vet beforehand, they can help you get your documents/necessary vaccines in order 🛌 let your hotels know you before you arrive that have a dog, even if they are pet friendly! where should we take Theo next?? Thailand is SO much more than just Bangkok - but let all the other tourists go to Phuket while you go here 👇 🇹🇭 I actually do love Phuket! But it’s also the most well known Thai island, meaning it’s busyyyy instead, or in addition to, I recommend considering these islands (in order of my faves): 🤿 Koh Tao - best for snorkeling & diving 🏝️ Koh Lanta - best for beach hopping & quiet vibes 🏖️ Koh Samui - best for day trips, beach bars & night life ⚠️ MAKE SURE TO LOOK AT SEASONS!! 📅 depending on the time of year, the eastern islands (like Samui & Tao) are better (usually Dec-Aug) 🌧️ & other times the western islands like Lanta & Phuket are better (usually Nov-April) 🫶 but truthfully - you can visit any Thai island in any month and have a great time, some months just have more rain than others! & let’s be real, there’s good Pad Thai everywhere in Thailand 😏 comment PAD THAI & I’ll send my free mini guides to Koh Tao & Koh Samui! #thailand #visitthailand #thailandinsider #amazingthailand #kohtao #kohsamui #thaiislands #thailandtravel

They’re delicious, cold, & hydrating. Don’t forget to scrape out the fresh coconut meat inside, ~$2-$4 🍜 Street food - eat at stands with hot food, ideally one with a line! Locals know best, ~$0.50-$5 🍩 Roti - any desert roti, I prefer the banana & Nutella, ~$2 🥭 ALL THE FRUIT - mini Thai bananas are my favorite, but all Thai fruit is top notch! 🧋 Thai iced coffee & Thai iced tea MUST DO: 💆‍♀️ Thai Massage - ⚠️ this will ruin you for massages anywhere else, Thai’s just do it better, & they’re usually $8-$10 an HOUR - for one of the top 5 most relaxing experiences of my life splurge on a pool side massage at @salachoengmonbeach for $30 🤿 Snorkel Tour - Thailand has some of the BEST snorkeling in the world, & diving if you’re up for it! 🍛 Thai Cooking Class - we did Thai Cooking with Joy in Koh Tao and not only was it the best food I’ve had in Thailand, but the setting is stunning with panoramic views 🏖️ Beach hop - each island has countless little beaches! don’t get me wrong, I LOVE all these places…but do we need a part 2?? 👇 🕷️ because some of their inhabitants are…not my fave (looking at you, spiders of Costa Rica) the bugs are (nearly) always worth it, just bring the right gear/sprays! 🦟 & mosquitoes are a given in all of my favorite tropical destinations 🏜️ but I gotta say I do love the lack of basically all bugs in the desert tho 🥶 as far as this rating goes, Antarctica, you the real MVP Is there anywhere you wouldn’t go/return to ONLY because of the bugs??? the *fact* that altered my brain chemistry 👇 📚 travel has taught me more than school ever did. I always enjoyed school! Not the getting graded part, but I loved learning 👩‍🏫 I’ve always said if someone could pay me just to learn new things I’d take that job in a second!! 🌍 but I think most classes in school are severely lacking context and completeness because we’re taught just ONE side of the story (our side) 🏛️ then I traveled to a lot of these places, learned more about the other sides, & realized the world, & history, is a LOT more complex than I realized 🗺️ everything I *thought* I knew has been challenged 🫨 like this “FACT”: there’s 7 continents? Depends who you ask, some people are taught 5 (the Americas & Eurasia), some people are taught 6 🙈 I won’t lie, it was a bit alarming at first to realize how much I just took as truth that was well…not 🥹 but in a roundabout way, I guess I did get that job eventually tho…because my whole goal of this account is to accumulate knowledge & share it with you 🫶 incredibly grateful you’re here & that we can learn about the world together!! what’s something you learned from travel that stuck with you?
