Early last year (end of January 2018 to be specific), I quit my full-time job as a marketer at a start-up to pursue my blog full time, and it’s safe to say that things worked out because I’m still here, and not currently hunting for a new job! These past few months of the new year have truly been a time of reflection for myself, and I’ve also taken the downtime from work to allow myself to relax, recuperate, and to strategize for the next year to come. It’s safe to say that I’ve learned quite a bit about both myself and the business within the past year since I quit my full-time job And while it’s great to have dreams to work towards, I’ve also learned that it’s extremely important to ladder up to those long term goals with shorter ones.
But after traveling to many tropical destinations within this past year alone, practice has served me well, and I’ve fully nailed down what you’ll need to bring for your next trip to the tropics if you have one coming up this winter season! When you’re lounging on the beach and don’t want your favourite pair of shoes to get dirty from the sand or wet from the water, you’ll want to have a pair of flip flops around. that’s annoying, it’s the sand that you bring into your hotel room that’s frustrating. While you might be thinking that it’s crazy to bring a pair of comfortable running shoes when you’re going to be lounging on the beach all day, it’ll do you justice to pack that pair of sneakers.
Thankfully, my friends are all a fans of potlucks, and/or have families of their own (literally, so many of our friends now have their own kids) that many of them don’t often have time for entire dinner, so that we can often get away with hosting a quick wine and snack get together. Putting together a full meal that takes into account everyone’s dietary preferences in this day and age can be daunting, and you don’t want to be left second guessing yourself as to whether or not your dish will pass through the scrutiny of your guests—as a host, having your guests complain upon your dishes can probably be one of the scariest things that can happen to you. One of my biggest deterrents when it comes to cooking (which leads to lots of take out), is the mess that comes with it, especially when the you’re hosting and don’t have time to worry about cleaning up your kitchen before the guests come over. So if you’re stuck in a pinch and don’t have much time to whip something up, or you’re concerned that your regular go-to dishes might not appease all of your guests, give this charctuterie board a try.
It’s probably already tough enough shopping for them since they already seem to have every hottest release in their makeup kit, but what they probably wouldn’t have picked up for themselves are some of the exclusive holiday kits that are only available at this time of the year! For those who don’t enjoy gift wrapping (definitely not me, gift wrapping is my version of therapy), I’ve often found that gift sets are pretty much good to go on their own already with the beautiful packaging that they come in. (let’s see if he’ll be game for trying one out in the coming year), so I figured let’s add something on that’s only within the next step of your typical skincare routine—a toner. If you’ve got a skincare lover on your gift list to shop for, you’ve definitely got to give them a go at this line because it’s done wonders for my skin—especially during the chillier months when my skin begins to dry out quite a bit and overcompensates by over-producing oil If your skincare lover is already an avid use of Kiehl’s, then what better way to celebrate the holidays than by gifting them some of the most beloved Kiehl’s products in the exclusive 2018 limited edition holiday packaging that features adorable drawings by the artist Andrew Bannecker.
