I love a self-care infused getting ready for bed / UN-ready routine to unwind, take care of my skin, and set myself up for the best night of sleep possible. Keeping up with a four year old and all the life things requires all the energy I can get 🙆♀️ I have been #dermaplaning for years now and add it into my nighttime routine 1-2x per week. I personally like to do dermaplaning at night before putting on all of my nighttime skincare to insure they are sinking in and being used in the most effective way possible. This @michaeltoddbeauty Sonicsmooth tool makes dermaplaning easier than ever and the vibration adds to the exfoliation! It’s so nice to wake up to smooth, exfoliated skin! To round out my nighttime routine, I add in my red light mask (because it is SO relaxing before bed, sometimes I will use it during an evening meditation), mouth tape (life changing), and some bedroom sage (so important to sage your bed every now and then!) before closing my eyes for the night! Returning to reality (snooze, I know) after the most fun-filled and wonderfully chaotic week celebrating my brother’s wedding 💒 As the oldest of 9 siblings, with a mom who’s one of 4 and a dad who’s one of 5, our big ole family gatherings are always extended celebrations as long as there’s family in town 🙆♀️ From the much anticipated family evening jam 🎸sessions—where Phoenix made his singing debut with “One Number Away” by Luke Combs, which he calls “the number song”—to brunches, sunny pool days, and all the traditional wedding festivities, my little family had an absolute blast. I think my feet still hurt from dancing so much! Sometimes, the back-to-back activities can feel overwhelming, and I fall into “obligation” mode. But it is so important for me to remind myself that these occasions are what life is all about, and these are the memories I want to hold onto forever. 📸 “You can do it like it’s a big weight on you or you can embrace it as part of the dance.” Here’s to choosing dance every time - because it is always worth it. 💞 The biggest Congratulations to my baby broski Brendan and my new SIL, Emily. What a beautiful wedding and a beautiful couple. WE LOVE YOU! P.S. The dress I wore to the wedding is on my LTK, and I’m still amazed it worked out since it’s backless. I kept the party decor minimal with a simple silver colored theme and made the centerpiece a wall of printed out photos of our family over the past year. The hardest part of this collage wall is a tie between two tedious tasks: going through all of my photos over the past year and making an album of 250+ pictures to be printed out and putting scotch tape on every single one the day of the party. While the tech avenue of sharing photos has it’s own advantages, something about printed out photos really feel like a luxury, especially during such a special milestone. I purchased a happy birthday sign, some silver balloons, a silver back drop for behind Phoenix’s Lalo high chair (for when he smashes his cake!), and PHOENIX silver balloons.
As fashion bloggers, when you aren’t feeling inspired by clothes, it is a bit of an issue LOL! Luckily, we have been patient with ourselves and over the past few days are feeling more hopeful about our spring wardrobes. I think that because last year was so weird when it came to shopping, we were putting a lot of pressure on ourselves about spring pieces this year.
