Molekule is a science and technology company that has reinvented the air purifier. Our unique technology destroys pollutants instead of just collecting them on filters, bringing truly clean air into your home.
Air purifiers that effectively remove allergens from the air in your house can be an effective way to ease the symptoms of environmental allergies caused by pets and dust mites as well as seasonal allergies Ionizers are air purifiers use an electric charge to remove particles from the air, but can they do so for allergens? Because an ionizer causes particles to be suspended in the air to precipitate out of the air onto nearby surfaces, allergens, dust and other particles end up on the floor, in the carpet or even stuck to curtains and on furniture. The ionizer does not actually destroy allergens, and any air currents in the room, such as from the HVAC system or simply someone walking through, will kick the allergens back into the air again. The EPA sets health standards for ozone concentrations, and has found that some ozone generators produce ozone at high enough concentrations to violate those standards.
If you have a mold or mildew problem in your car, you might be considering an ionizing air purifier for your car, since they are one of the few types of air purifiers available for in-car use. Unfortunately, there is not really a practical way to eliminate all mold spores, so your goal with an air purifier to is to reduce the amount of mold spores in the air in your home or car to low enough levels to prevent them from triggering allergies or other respiratory symptoms. Even if the ionizer was able to do anything about mold spores, it would take a very long time to fully purify the air in a room of mold spores, since it would rely on random air currents to carry spores through the ionizer by chance. These air purifiers simply create ozone gas, which as we explained above, will not remove mold spores from the air.
The AAFA publishes this springtime allergy report each year to raise awareness of the magnitude of people across the U.S. impacted by seasonal allergies. If you have seasonal allergies, you may already be used to planning your outdoor time around pollen counts and low-air-quality days, but did you realize that different cities and regions experience allergy season to different extents? Trees across the country produce pollen each spring, but residents of the following cities can expect seasonal allergies to be especially severe this year. *McAllen was ranked the worst city in the U.S. for people with seasonal allergies because of the city’s higher-than-average pollen counts and allergy medicine use, as well as its lack of board-certified allergists for residents to turn to for medical help.
To keep even the darkest, dampest corners of your bathroom allergen-free: • Use exhaust fans to help reduce moisture accumulation during and after baths and showers. Consider installing an air purifier to help remove airborne allergens, especially if the household has pets, mold issues or smokers. By installing a HEPA filter in your HVAC system or adding an air purifier to your home, you can help reduce the presence of airborne allergens. When vacuuming, consider using a vacuum with a HEPA filter, or even one with UV light and a HEPA filter to help remove the most allergens from your floors (and avoid reintroducing them into the air).
