We went with The Nines, an incomparable luxury hotel housed in the top nine floors of a turn of the century building that housed the area's first department store. From here, walk over to Mother's Bistro & Bar, another 10-minute straight shot walk on 3rd street. This place gets packed on the weekends, but don't be afraid to belly up to the beautiful bar to avoid the wait time. came highly recommended and that was echoed by our hotel concierge who said it was his family's favorite place for a special dinner.
We have a plethora of amusement parks here in LA and not all local attendees have their children in tow. As a matter of fact, in adulthood, many of my friends have had annual passes to one park or another B
After officially working in DTLA for one full year (hooray for work anniversary! ), I have narrowed down my favorite selections for coffee shops in downtown proper. This coffee shop made my coffee workspace list because it is pretty awesome for getting work done with caffeine at arms reach. Known for their soft serve ice cream in a variety of unique flavors, I prefer the Dirty Bae Latte, a grey concoction of activated charcoal and their Lover's Latte (made with beets) was tasty, yet... interesting... The Stumptown brewed coffee with any number of sweet goodies or breakfast items makes The lack coffee.
After quickly realizing that the exhibit wouldn't be in Los Angeles for much longer, I finally made my way to at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County . The walkthrough exhibit highlights the 5,000-year history of the ritual and art of tattoo, showcasing tribal traditions, worldwide criminal linkage, and more contemporary art forms. A Polynesian octopus in the birthplace of "tatu," French Polynesia (Tahiti), a sisterly whim in Vegas, a visit to Baltimore's "tattoo museum" which turned out to be a tattoo shop (when in Rome...). But really, the majority of mine are simply for the beauty of the art of tattoo itself and the unbelievable talent that it takes to create beautiful work on a soft canvas with only needles and ink.
