Aeropress: When 2nd place is as good as a win!

It is the most relaxed of the coffee competitions, where baristas, roasters and coffee freaks get 8 minutes to brew the coffee provided. I thought the first recipe using 30g of coffee was interesting. Brewing method: Inverted Aeropress Total Brewing time: 2 minutes 30 seconds Preparation: Grind the coffee and weigh after grinding to 18g, brew the water and water down the Aeropress filter. Brewing Process: With the Aeropress inverted, pour in the group coffee and place on the scale.

Time for an Espresso Martini

While most people dream of a cold beer, a glass of Rosé or Aperol Spritz, the coffee lovers of the world are preparing to indulge in an Espresso Martini. Global interest in coffee and coffee quality (including specialty/speciality coffee) has not only lead to a broader range of coffees listed on the coffee menu. The real cocktail barmans will make that that will blow you away – Espresso, Kahlua (or coffee liquor) or vodka. Some add sugar a touch of coffee syrup but if they are using high quality coffee, specialty coffee, which has a natural sweetness, no additional sugar syrup is necessary.

What’s makes a winning Barista?

The new World Barista Champion 2018 would be crowned, and the coffee world would celebrate all that is part of this competition. Throughout the last 6 years, I have seen hundreds of Baristas participate in the competition. I will never forget the year I volunteered in Dublin. I thought maybe it was just me who was thinking like this, and carried on.2018 World Barista Championship arrives.

London Coffee Experience

I started the Coffee Spot in the summer of 2012. I find that a lot of the innovation has moved out of London as speciality becomes more mainstream and people focus on volume. Instead, I walked into 111 Roasting Works, a wonderful coffee roaster and coffee shop, with a Modbar and filter station where you can try flights of their coffee while chatting with the barista (who on some days is the roaster) about all things coffee. I guess if I had to pick one it would be a really good natural coffee as a filter.
