The Ladybug and the joys of the “total outfit”

I still remember that I was in Japan when I saw that Madame Ilary posted on Instagram a picture in her new Marlene trousers. The trousers are super easy to wear with shirts, tees and even thin sweaters and so is the turban, even if the elegance of its inspiration (30s decorations and shape) makes it look a bit more “engaging” (which is not: like every turban it goes absolutely with EVERYTHING from denim to velvet to sequins, you just need to use your imagination! ). BUT, the perfect match for this two-piece combo was the elegant and super chic organza black shirt from Madame Ilary (actually this is part of her HEKA Couture collection). The graffiti were so cool, it was the first time that I checked the area even if it is very close to the University where we often shoot (also near Ilaria show room! ).

The Ladybug’s 40s fashion experiment

This experiment was an idea that I had when I saw this beautiful 80s vintage Luisa Spagnoli blazer from Opherty & Ciocci, a wonderful piece with has such a 40s shape that I thought: Not so difficult for me considering the number of turbans that I have, but this handmade golden piece with leaf decoration from Madame Ilary is definitely one of the most 40s inspired pieces that has a place in my wardrobe! I stayed on the same golden tones for the earrings, a vintage 80s statement pair that I found in Barcelona last year in one of the loveliest vintage shops in town, Lullaby. Last but not least, as I am not a fan of 40s mid-wedges and mid-heels I decided to give the outfit a little color shake with this pair of amazing aqua heeled ankle Chelsea boots from Ouigal: this is my third pair of Ouigal shoes this year, I am madly in love with their style and they are incredibly comfortable.

The Ladybug and the instant princess feeling!

This usually happens when you wear a statement piece that says it all and the rest of your outfit almost doesn’t matter. Well, it doesn’t matter now, what matters is that getting dressed in a certain way, in line with who you are and who you want to be gives you a special and powerful energy. In soft Prince of Wales patterned wool, super long and perfectly fitting with its large pleats, this skirt is a dream and it can give the instant “princess feeling”! I wore it for work with super simple black Benetton sweater (but I can also imagine it with a simple white shirt) but I added a bit of color with the aqua Ouigal ankle boots and a bit of vintage with the amazing IZ Vintage blackamoor golden earrings.

The Ladybug’s third stop of the virtual tour of Messina: the beach

The third and last stop (for now) of my virtual tour of my hometown Messina couldn’t be another place than the beach. I couldn’t realize how lucky I was to live in a town with a beautiful beach and clean turquoise sea in the city, until I moved to Northern Italy to start University in a city without the sea. In Messina, in summer you can go to the beach whenever you have time: lunchtime if you work, at 5pm when you finish work, spend all day there or just a few hours to get a fabulous tan, to swim or any other beach activity that comes to your mind. I wore my favorite vintage black leather skirt from New Retro Vintage in Bucharest (my favorite vintage find of that trip! ) and a Benetton turtle neck mustard sweater (one of my favorite colors lately).
