An eggs-istential crisis

Despite taking time to focus my thoughts on the matter before writing this post, I’m still none the wiser and a chocolate-based omnishambles surely awaits this year. This is thanks in part to one of his school friends casually telling him that everybody’s favourite reindeer owner doesn’t exist. so I don’t think he’s necessarily swayed by what his friend said, but the question is clearly in mind. And that, when he asks again, we’ll tell him that it’s a bit like religion.

Think dad jokes are bad? You're kidding...

This may sound like a fairly harsh criticism, but I feel justified as they’re relentless with their attempts at jokes. We desperately try to think like they do in the hope of getting the odd one, but it’s so hard. We don’t get most of them, of course, and this only serves to feed the innate belief all children seem to have that their parents are a bit thick. She’s rubbish at telling jokes too, but still gets in our bed every night and kicks the shit out of me.

I love a good story about kids taking on technology, so here are five mechanical mishaps I’ve encountered thanks to my kids. It’s great for playing music, checking the weather forecast and calculating sums as I’m crap with numbers. It’s a fantastic idea and I’m confident it will save us a fortune at the dentist in years to come.

Taking a spin on The Rainforest Carousel at Drusillas

Taking a spin on The Rainforest Carousel at Drusillas Disclosure: we received tickets for a day out at Drusillas in exchange for this post. This time, we were invited along specifically to try out its brand new ride, The Rainforest Carousel. What’s more, it boasts over 30 rainforest creatures to ride on. We spent the rest of the day visiting the animals in the zoo, burning off energy in the play areas and enjoying some of the other rides including The Safari Express and the Hello Kitty Car Ride.
