By removing all of the cubbies and extra shelves I realized I was given a blank canvas and with many opportunities to bring in beauty. One of the biggest things holding me back from loving our home was what to do with the monstrosity of our entertainment center. It's a rather large and open room, which is great. Adding large artwork, in this case, canvases of my kiddos, and a large plant can make decor easy!
We didn't have the basement finished for very long when we decided it was time to find forever. We did nearly build a custom home on 10 acres east of where we live now. But while I was complaining to the realtor about how hard it is to find what we wanted she told me there was another home for sale in the neighborhood We had one more son in that home (not in that home, in the hospital, but you get my drift) and then realized it was time to move.
I have watched trends come and go and I have learned to hone in my personal style. There are so many different ways to create beautiful and inviting spaces. After purchasing our dream home (which was not in "dream home" condition), I learned to fall in love with interior design.
