Taylor Swift Book Tag

This was such a cute book; I remember staying up till midnight to read it because I just couldnā€™t put it down, and smiling uncontrollably at the end because it was so adorable. I canā€™t remember the last time I read a book with forbidden love! I can think of two examples which arenā€™t my all-time favourites, but still stick out to me as good examples of great book couples. I donā€™t think thereā€™s really any book that I would be unlikely to lend because Iā€™d miss it, as Iā€™m not really one to reread books much, and I guess Iā€™d get it back eventually.

Social Media Tag

While this isnā€™t technically bookish, as itā€™s based around social media (haha what a coincidence! ), Iā€™ve gotten to talk about lots of bloggers, and Iā€™ve been selecting bookish people ā€“ so there is still plenty of bookish love to be found here, and I would recommend all the blogs Iā€™m linking to. Sheā€™s just such a hilarious person (she has gifs of herself, sheā€™s awesome), and that charisma and humour translates so well into her blog posts. For This one is technically two bloggers, as they run the blog jointly, but twins Maddie and Bee from Heart Full of Books (both a YouTube channel and a blog) write such good reviews. Usually I wouldnā€™t be as excited over a blog that only does reviews, as I tend to like varied content, but honestly their reviews are just so good that I donā€™t even care, and am always mega excited to see theyā€™ve posted.

Review: The Exact Opposite of Okay

While there were rocky times for Ajita and Izzy (especially when Izzy said something she definitely should not have said ā€“ and although Izzy realised a little too late, she did see where she had gone wrong and apologise), they pulled through in the end. When so much else was going wrong in Izzyā€™s life, I loved that for most the book, she had her strong friendship with Ajita there for her. I also adored Izzyā€™s grandmother, Betty, who was clearly stressed a lot of the time, but always did her best for Izzy. The book/Izzy had quite a specific sense of humour, but once I settled in to the book, I adapted to the jokes and one-liners, and by the end I thought they were absolutely hilarious!

Guest Post: A Female Author I Admire #FeministFebruary

I really enjoyed writing a piece on a female writer I admire (my choice being Louise Oā€™Neill), and so I thought I would share the opening paragraph here, as well as a link to the full post. When I saw that the prompts for Feminist February were a female writer I admire or a feminist book I love, the first person who sprang into my mind was Louise Oā€™Neill ā€“ a particularly good choice for this as not only do I really admire her, but to my knowledge, all of her books are splendidly feminist. At the moment, her published works areĀ Only Ever YoursĀ (described asĀ The Handmaidā€™s TaleĀ meetsĀ Mean Girls, and the YA book I have reread the most) andĀ Asking For ItĀ (in which a popular teen is raped at a party and then the perpetrators upload photos online ā€“
