It’s a snowy, work-from-home day here in Seattle, so I thought I’d take this relaxing day to write up a year in review just a few weeks into the new year! I stopped writing for a few months after starting my post-grad job because I just didn’t have the time and didn’t really need the money anymore? ? So I think I’m over the sponsored post days for now (until I become an early-retired part-time mommy blogger) and might slowly get back into writing just because! Drove from Austin to Seattle for 6 days with my dad, visiting Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Tetons National Park, and Yellowstone National Park along the way • Moved into a beautiful apartment in the heart of Seattle!
I spent forever adding prints to favorites lists on a ton of websites, but ultimately went with a company called Desenio I discovered while watching an apartment tour by one of my favorite YouTubers. but I seriously just like posting about things I find that end up working out so well and moving into a new place meant buying lots of things! and I hope I can help some people find a new favorite brand the way that YouTube video led me to this one. And since referral codes are my favorite way of saving $$$, I got a discount for y’all!
I’ve spent pretty much every day since shopping for it and decorating, and it’s still not totally done, but I wanted to give y’all a preview of the only “finished” area so far. They have a great selection of small appliances and kitchen essentials that are perfect for small apartments and campus living, and I picked out a few (matching! ! ) I also decided to become a magnet collector since my original idea of collecting coffee mugs wasn’t nearly as space-friendly, so over the next few months I want to fill up my fridge with even more souvenirs. In the mean time you can find me on Instagram and maybe help me decide on a gallery wall layout or make other non-crucial but essential decisions about throw pillows.
I’m admittedly a bit sad that I’m not going back to college this month, but I’m still feeling those “back to college” vibes since I start my new job in just a few weeks! I don’t buy new skin and makeup products without doing a ton of research on the brand and their product’s results, and that’s partly why I love doing haul-style review posts because I read them on other blogs all the time to help make my decisions. Even if I’m not feeling a color one day, I always swipe on this Lip Balm to keep my chap-prone lips in check and know they won’t get even drier from a sunburn. Like most college students, I couldn’t afford to get a facial every month to clean up my skin, so this product is a great addition to a skincare routine craving that extra treatment.
