I think Emmy really enjoyed this plan too because we just kept happening upon ice cream shop after ice cream shop! We are ice cream experts in all sorts of places now because of her love of ice cream. Instead of opening and closing, when boats need to pass, the bridge moves aside to create an entry or exit for them. It also means that people can stay on the bridge if need be, although the bridge guard will, of course, encourage you to exit asap if a boat is coming.
The Cayman Islands has recently been in the news because they are taking steps to increase the cruise ships that will be stopping and that means more families looking for the best shore excursions on Grand Cayman. The whole island has filtered water and good food safety practices so it is an island you can eat on and not have to worry about illness. The people on the island are all great about looking for the tourist sticker on the rental cars and making way for you as needed and also offering help along the way On the Reese family scale of 1-10 for Carribean Islands, we give Grand Cayman a family friendly score of a perfect 10!
We resort hopped while we were there to get a feel for all three of the family-friendly resorts, and then the adults went to the adults only restort to walk around a bit too. The younger kiddos would be very happy at all the resorts, but Grand Bahia Principe Coba has a water park and might be an extra draw for those that want to be able to walk right out of their room to the water fun. I can't even explain how awesome it was to visit this super fun resort and get to experience it with good friends. Cancun and the Riviera Maya area are such a good choice for meeting with friends and family who live in different areas because it is central to all.
This was a really cool activity because you get to see the resort in a whole new way, but also you get to explore a Mayan Forest complete with a replica Mayan house. Our bike and forest guide took such great care of us in making sure that this tour was both educational and really fun. The girls were intrigued by the Mayan house and how the forest also provided the building material In the end, we went for Japanese food because we knew we could have Mexican food at the buffets during breakfast and lunch.
