Balance doesn’t mean giving equal amounts of time and energy to everything, it’s about giving the right amount of time and energy to the right things For a long time, I truly believed that work life balance meant giving the same amount of time and energy to both your personal life and your work life. I struggled to get enough time and energy available for my family while still trying to work full time, build a business, do the cooking and cleaning. I have the flexibility to put my extra time and energy wherever it will serve us best and know that all the things that need to happen still happen.

So last weekend, as part of my weekly self-care time, I decided it was time to try out a new style beyond my go-to’s of buns, ponytails and braids. It was easy to work with (and came with a protective glove for people like me that always end up burning themselves). In Jen’s Video ( you can find it on Jen’s Youtube), she uses an automatic curler which made her’s faster and easier. I was looking at my beautiful little girl as I realized how she really felt. How could such a loving, kind, beautiful, and smart young woman not see her many gifts? If she could feel this way and faily to see her own strength and beauty, how many other women felt this way? How could I help other women like her, like me, that felt this way?
