So instead of trying to do that, I’d just going to go ahead and share the 5 treats that I love that really remind me that it’s Christmas time! My family is Acadian (a type of French Canadian) and this is a traditional Acadian food that we eat are Christmas time. Growing up, my family would have this supper on Christmas Eve and for breakfast on Christmas Day. Here’s another eastern Canadian delicacy and one of my favorite Christmas treats!
Moving right along and we’re on Day 3 of 12 Days of Blogmas already! If you’re feeling festive, you’re in luck because today we’re talking festive outfits. Over the past few years, the ugly Christmas sweater party seems to be extremely popular so finding holiday wear is a fun task. You can even find ugly Christmas sweater printables just for your party.
I decided to stick local for this one and talk about 2 charities in my area who I know appreciate our help no matter what time of year it is. It’s also a great way to start that conversation about how fortunate we are and how important it is for us to help those in need when we are able to. Bobby’s Hospice is a 10 bed palliative care home that takes care of over 115 every year who are on their end of life journey. It’s not something uplifting or pleasant to think about, but knowing that there is a space available to love and care for people and their families as they go through such a difficult time is a small comfort and I know that Bobby’s has a significant impact on our community.
We don’t put our gifts under this tree or decorate it together, it’s purely for show. It doesn’t have a particular theme, it’s more of a mish mash of all of our special Christmas ornaments from over the years and that’s why I love it so much. And since the ornaments on this Christmas tree are each special to us, sitting on the couch with a cup of tea and looking at it gives me the warm fuzzies. A few years back, I shared our Christmas tree from Ben’s first Christmas in 2013 and just in those few short years things have changed so much.
