So I thought hey, why not whip up a lil travel guide for you, telling you where to travel to based on your starsign? ! I should stress that I am in no way an astrologer and this is just a bit of fun, so don’t get mad if you don’t like your destination! Naturally I’m going to start with Capricorn as it’s my starsign. They’re also intelligent and intuitive, so I think they would like a trip that’s a bit off of the beaten track.
It’s never been a massive priority in my life, maybe because as millennials it’s just always seemed unattainable without completely changing our lives to save money. And I’m excited to finally be able to decorate somewhere after years of renting houses with magnolia walls where you can’t put holes in the walls. Anyway I just wanted to put it out there, because I’m very grateful that we’ve been able to buy somewhere and I’m so excited that I had to tell you about it! , you know I won’t be able to help myself… Head over to my Instagram and Twitter accounts for regular updates on the house move and my life in general.
I end every day wondering where the hell the time went, checking nothing off of my to do list and saying to myself ‘it’s ok, I’ll definitely get it done tomorrow’. And I think that’s ok, because the first three months of a baby’s life are considered the “Fourth Trimester”. I realise there may be some kind of soul-destroying sleep regression coming my way, but right now I’m very grateful that my little pickle let’s me sleep at night! I’m starting to write blogs again and have time to think about things other than when the last feed was.
But the things I look for when I’m visiting a new city are: great brunch locations, cool places to eat, Instagrammable spots, quirky things to do, events to know about and boutique stays. Located in the Cooper-Young district of Memphis, The Beauty Shop is a former beauty parlour where Priscilla Presley apparently got her hair did. There’s even a cool retro diner on-site, so definitely give it a look-in. Tickets cost $41 just for the mansion tour or $61 including the added exhibits at time of writing. Throughout the month of May, Memphis puts on a good show for the Memphis in May International Festival.
