Button Easter Egg

It's Thrifty Chicks Wednesday, woot! woot!!!This month we have two new members to our little thrifty group, please welcome Sheila from Audrey Would Vintage and Linda from Itsy Bits and Pieces The Thrifty Chicks challenges happen on the second Wednesday of each month. We pick an upcycling theme or item and then we each post our upcycling projects! This month our challenge is buttons! Be sure to check out the other ladies' posts at the end to see what they came up with using buttons!Since Easter is right around the corner I thought it would be fun to come up with a new piece to add to my Easter decor!I had this old frame out in my garage hoard (so I can now check another thing off the garage cleanup list!)I used a piece of plain white scrapbook paper for my background but you could totally use a color or pattern instead! To draw my egg shape I traced around the bottom half of a canning jar on the bottom of the paper

Spring Mantel Decor

but I also wanted to decorate for spring so that when Easter is over I can still have some fun spring decor things out to enjoy for a while. My mantel is one area I've decorated with mostly spring decor with just a couple of touches of Easter. This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience (which means if you make a purchase after clicking a link I will earn a small commission which helps keep my blog up and running but it won't cost you a penny more)! I left the string of lights and a lot of the decor from my Cozy Winter Mantel Decor but I took out some things like the throw in the basket and the candle cozies and gathered up and added my ceramic cactus plants instead for some pretty green color.

Easy DIY Chocolate Bunnies

Just find some thrift store (or even Dollar Store) bunnies and give them a couple coats of paint and you have adorable chocolate Easter bunnies! Think of the real chocolate rabbits you see in the store, they aren't very detailed. Dollar Store Bunny Makeover

This project started out with a little cardboard bunny sign that I found a couple of years ago there. This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience (which means if you make a purchase after clicking a link I will earn a small commission which helps keep my blog up and running but it won't cost you a penny more)! Put a layer of Mod Podge over the rest of the cardboard bunny shape, lay the ball of stuffing on it, and then cover over it with the burlap and press down firmly. Once you have the pom-pom made, trim one side flat and then glue that onto the bunny.
