Welcoming DJS to Toronto Beauty Reviews!

Here at TBR, we believe that beauty is for everyone. All genders, all skin types, all body shapes, skin tones, hair textures, ages, faces, and lifestyles

Travel Back to 1969 with Caryl Baker Visage

Noticing a difference between the high quality cosmetics used by her fellow models and actresses and the makeup available to women outside of the beauty industry, Caryl decided to design her own products to bridge the gap. She therefore began offering free makeup demonstrations and allowing women to try out the products before purchasing, helping them find the shades and formulas that would work best for them. The collection is cohesive, so you can use many of the products to create one look, but the colours are unique enough that you can mix and match with other products you own to add a 60s vibe some of your tried-and-true routines, too! The bright spring colours that were all the rage when CBV was launched 50 years ago inspired the shades themselves, meaning the products are perfect for the coming months.

Recent Faves and New Launches: Winter 2019

I’ll touch on a few winter-ready skincare products I’ve been loving of late, but I’ve also made some haircare, makeup, and lifestyle discoveries that I can’t wait to share with you! I can’t say whether the products are actually thickening my hair or preventing loss, but they have certainly made my hair look more robust and feel nourished without being weighed down. Positioning themselves as “the beauty translators,” the founders of The Inkey List have created user-friendly products that get you big results without a big price tag. It’s easy to see why this skincare line has had such immediate success: the packaging of The Inkey List products is clear, the messaging is straightforward, there are no filler ingredients, and all of the products are under $15!
