I got the official invitation in September, and at the end of October I finally got all my paperwork in order. My agency provided the paperwork, and told me I needed to make an appointment at the Department of Home Affairs to issue the extension in person. Some dude in a suit yanked my passport out of my hand, looked at my paperwork for all but ten seconds and handed it back to me. I don’t have a South African doctor, and was told over and over again that wasn’t necessary because my own doctor had to prove the same damn thing before I left.

This year, I’m spending Christmas in Jakarta with RayTay (@taykeenmeng), but I wanted to write to those of you who are in the same place I was a couple years back. Back when I lived in Utrecht and hated my life, Christmas consisted of me working nightshifts in a hospital. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to start working nightshifts,  or working in a hospital, but working isn’t the worst idea. I didn’t know that many people yet in the city, so I just spent that day working as well.

I like being active in my swimwear; swimming, climbing, diving etc- strapless styles usually scare me off from doing any of that. I wouldn’t recommend jumping off of waterfalls with it, but I’d be careful trying that in just about any strapless bikini style. Another thing that crossed my mind before I tried it out, was that the bikini might fill up with water and feel heavy after being in the water. This is a bikini primarily to boost your assets, after all 😉

The main question I get, mostly from young girls, is: The reason I ask is not to kill your dreams or to talk down on you; its because I genuinely want to know what drives you to want to model. They won’t do that if they don’t see their investment returned, so if they don’t think you as a model will make them any money they won’t pay for anything. If you’re posting butt picture after butt picture in an attempt to gain insta-fame, it’s very likely that certain brands will not want to work with you. If they don’t do open calls, they’ll most likely ask you to send in a few basic images.
