Pretent You're a Hotel Guest

The best situation I had found until now, so we would each have space to walk around the bed and room for a bedside table was to put the bed in the middle of the room far enough from the window so the air can circulate through the vent and so we wouldn't freeze our brains against it in the winter. Strangely enough I had not changed this configuration in close to a year, and then, I got a package from SOL Organics with brand new white & organic cotton bedding and knew it was time to spruce things up a little. I switched the bedroom rug with the living room one, ditched one of the 2 bedside "tables", brought in plants, and piled pillows to create the coziest reading nook on my bed. They make a room bright, give a feeling of peace and are simply a perfect blank canvas which allows small details to stand out, like a bright-colored pillow, plants or a piece of artwork.

Have a Blissful Weekend #31

I'm giving a Zero Waste Home Tour on Saturday and will help a friend host her first Vegan Mexico Street Food Pop-Up on Sunday! I hope you'll have a great one and in the meantime, here are a few things that made my week and a couple links from around the web... A bunch of friends and I are hosting the abovementioned Vintage Pop-Up Market at Tendue on Monday. 5 Ways to Support Your Favorite Blogs Without Spending a Single Dime

I found a way to bypass that feeling by creating Zero Waste PDX, a more tangible, geographically-rooted community of like-minded people here in Portland, Oregon, but I do not want to give up on this space, Conscious by Chloé, my first love labor. It's no coincidence that I'm posting this on Valentine's day. Every month, I send a little update to you, sharing what I've been up to for the past couple weeks (i.e. using you as an accountability group for my New Year's Resolutions), highlighting a specific post, announcing upcoming events, and sharing unique content dedicated to this group of very special readers. I've been reading Garance Doré's witty words for more than 10 years (! ), got suck into Cup of Jo's community when I moved to the States and just recently discovered Sunshine's yellow world!

Organic Loose-Leaf Tea in Compostable Packaging Review

I'm a sucker for old school tea shops which look like apothecaries and I regularly bring them my jars to refill with fragrant caffeinated and non caffeinated loose leaf tea, but I'm also aware that we don't all necessarily have one of these in our neighborhood... Enter Arbor Teas, a small, family owned organic tea company based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan whose mission is to find the world's most fantastic organic teas and deliver them to you as sustainably as possible. They consciously try to consider how every action, big and small, will affect our environment, from supporting organic and biodynamic farming, to offsetting their transportation carbon emissions, running a solar-powered facility and using backyard compostable packaging. Arbor Teas is the first and only company offering a full line of loose teas in backyard compostable packaging. Arbor Tea's entire catalog is certified organic under the USDA National Organic Program and their inventory is selected with quality, organic certification, and Fair Trade certification in mind.
