Exploring the art, culture, food and more of Italy in general, and Bologna in particular.
My former life in the Netherlands I’ve noticed a number of new followers here on my Flamingo in Utrecht blog recently, and I don’t update here any more as I’ve been preparing for my big move to Italy and going back and forth. I’ve been starting on aflamingoinitaly.com, where I write about similar stuff, but focused on Italy (and Bologna in particular) instead of Utrecht. Still lots of pictures and architecture and history and some of the quirks of trying to live la dolce vita.
After that began the various moves, sometimes within the same city or state, and sometimes to a new city, state or country. I’m still learning about Bologna and I’m really enjoying it, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t feel homesick for Utrecht sometimes. So if you enjoyed my photos and my posts over the years, I’d appreciate one last vote. In the meantime, here are a few photos of Utrecht that represent just a small amount of the city’s great charm, beauty, fun, and overall gezelligheid.
My former life in the Netherlands I’ve noticed a number of new followers here on my Flamingo in Utrecht blog recently, and while I appreciate it, it’s kind of pointless. If you want to follow one of my blogs, you should follow aflamingoinitaly.com, where I write about similar stuff, but focused on Italy (and Bologna in particular) instead of Utrecht. Still lots of pictures and architecture and history and some of the quirks of trying to live la dolce vita. So please, head over to my new blog and follow me there.
I just saw the sad news about Dick Bruna, the creator of Nijntje/Miffy passing away yesterday. I picked up some of my favorites when I visited the Dick Bruna Huis (now Nijntje Museum). This one seems appropriate today, as it is half Nijntje and half Dick Bruna. It depends on the side, which one you see: At the base is a short poem dedicated to them both: RIP, Dick Bruna.
