Road tripping is in my blood– I love the idea of cruising down back roads, windows down, music turned up. And since I traded my stilettos for flip flops when i moved from NYC to Florida almost 5 years ago, I’ve been more than content to explore all our neighboring sandy destinations, one summer road trip at a time. One of the best trips of this kind, is the 230 mile, 4 hour drive (give or take) from West Palm Beach to the Keys–taking us to the charming and historic destination located at the southernmost point of Florida: Key West.
One of my very favorite reasons for moving from a hustling, bustling city like NYC, to the easy, breezy beach town vibe of Palm Beach is the ever present sense of luxurious hospitality. The Spa’s therapeutic pools, include The Dead Sea Pool (containing 21 specialty minerals) and The Pyrenees Pool, a chilly salt pool that helps moderate body temperature and mood swings. A baking soda scrub followed by 30% Lactic acid peel, and a secret Lemongrass Callus Remover creates baby soft feet this 60-minute tantalizing treatment, includes a Pink Facial in a box, foot bath and are served with organic green tea, coffee or lemon water. New for Spa and Wellness Month this year, are three new fitness activities: a fitness crawl through downtown West Palm Beach, bootcamp classes at FITTEAM Ballpark of The Palm Beaches, and District Fit, a three-day festival featuring glow yoga, fun runs, and a vegan-inspired dinner that i’m seriously looking forward to!
With a living-room style lobby lounge that draws you in with its cozy fireplace and Old Florida charm, plus two lovely dining experiences, Proper Grit, a Florida inspired Chophouse with a grand cocktail bar that wraps around to the building’s exterior, and Spruzzo, with Mediterranean style cuisine and a sleek alfresco bar overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, I was blissfully entertained all weekend long.
