With the promise of sunset camel rides, bedouin tents complete with ensuite bathrooms, and fine dining under the stars, this luxury eco-lodge was the sort of camping that I could get used to.

As the other guests congregated atop the camp’s tallest dune, we watched as the landscape shifted from a fiery red to a shadowy blue.
