I’m Carrie Ann, the blogger behind Should Be Cruising. I’m so glad you’re here! I love sharing my best cruise tips with you, along with honest reviews of cruise destinations, shore excursions, cruise ships, and cruise lines.
Adios 2023! 🚢 ✈️ 🏝️
I've been looking for day trips close to Boston where it's easy to stay socially distanced. My day at Plimoth Plantation was just perfect! It's almost all outside, and you can "go back in time" at the 17th-century village. Even the costumed interpreters wear masks 😷 If you're planning a #cruise that visits Boston next year (or in 2022!), this would make a great shore excursion!
Looking out at the caldera in Santorini 🇬🇷☀️ on a sunny day in summer of 2017 #travelmemories Such a lovely view from our lunch table in Oia! If you look closely, you can even see Royal Princess at anchor 🛳️ What's your favorite port to visit on a Mediterranean cruise? Santorini is one of mine, but they're all so beautiful! 🌺
Sunrise at Johns Hopkins Inlet, Glacier Bay Alaska in September of last year #travelmemories It was a perfect day to get out on those kayaks ☀️🚣♀️ and enjoy nature. Shot from the fantail of Wilderness Explorer on my small-ship Alaska cruise 🛳️ I'm so glad to hear @uncruise is planning to start back up August 1st. Who else wants to go on a small-ship cruise? 🙋♀️
“Ships at a distance have every man’s wish on board.” – Zora Neale Hurston Does anyone else wonder what adventures people on other ships are off to? I spotted the Norwegian Breakaway through a porthole while sailing in the Caribbean back in February #travelmemories 🛳️ Link in bio 👆 for more cruise travel quotes
Happy Independence Day, USA! 🇺🇸 The Fourth might be a little different this year (OK, a lot different) with a pandemic and social distancing. So let's all do what we can to stop the spread of this virus. We all want to get back to exploring our beautiful country, and the rest of the world! I truly hope that everyone has a chance to get outside in the fresh air, relax, and enjoy our special day. Please stay safe out there, and please wear your mask in public so we'll all be able to continue to enjoy our freedom. If you see me wearing a mask at the grocery store buying food for my family, please don't mock me or say something rude. Just remember that I'm sacrificing my own right to breathe freely to protect you and your loved ones from the virus. I hope you'll choose to do the same for me and my loved ones. Love you all, and happy cruising!
My favorite meal at the Pub Lunch on Princess Cruises is always the Steak and Kidney Pie 🥧 Here's the last pie I had on board Regal Princess, with chips and malt vinegar, of course! 😋 What are some of your favorite meals you've had on a cruise? Link in bio 👆 to read all about the yummy Pub Lunch!
Is transiting the Panama Canal 🇵🇦 on your bucket list? It's an engineering marvel worth seeing at least once! I went through the Agua Clara locks in January 2018 on the Caribbean Princess 🛳️ and it was definitely an unforgettable journey #travelmemories Read all about my Panama canal cruise on the blog. “Athens, the eye of Greece, mother of arts and eloquence” – John Milton Thinking back fondly to my cruise from Athens 🇬🇷 in 2017 #travelmemories 🛳️ 🛳️ It always blows my mind just how old many of the structures are in the city. This theater on the southwest slope of the Acropolis was built in 161 AD and is still used for concerts 🎶 Greece is opening for tourism tomorrow - wish I could be there! Link in bio 👆
I love walking down Rue Ste.-Catherine in Montréal! This is a small part of the rainbow art installation that used to decorate the street's pedestrian walkway. 🌈 The art, known as “18 Shades of Gay”, was designed by Claude Cormier and was supposed to hang over the street for a year. But it was so well-loved that it stayed in place for seven years! Sadly, the art was taken down in 2019, but the balls were auctioned off to support LGBTQIA+ community organizations 🏳️🌈 as well as future art installations. So glad I was able to see them before they were gone #travelmemories Read about my last visit to Montreal on the blog. Link in bio 👆
Buttercup was the world's most famous sloth 🦥 She was even a TV star! 🌟 She was rescued after her mom was hit by a car, and spent her life at the Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica, where she relaxed in her basket and calmly gazed at her adoring fans who came to visit. Sadly, Buttercup passed away a year ago today on June 28, 2019. At age 27, she was the oldest Bradypus sloth in captivity 👵 I was lucky enough to meet Buttercup at her home in Cahuita, Costa Rica in January 2018 on a Panama Canal cruise #travelmemories Read about my visit and the behind-the-scenes tour I took to see rescued baby sloths - link in bio 👆
"The aeroplane has unveiled for us the true face of the earth." - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Missing the amazing views you get from airplane windows ✈️ #travelmemories Here I am last year, trying to spot all my fave places in Boston from the sky 🏙️ Who else always wants the window seat and can spend hours just watching the scenery? 🙋♀️
