Nailing It

It’s Thanksgiving Sunday here in Canada and I’m all about the pie at Thanksgiving dinner. This weekend seemed like the perfect opportunity to pull out a favourite orange polish of mine (Pumpkin Spice) from Beyond The Nail, and do a little stamping. You can read a full review of Pumpkin Spice by following the link, but suffice it to say, this is a mainstay when it comes to wearable orange polishes in my collection. I used a Bundle Monster holiday plate and filled in the pie and apples with Color Club Earthly Angel and Wet ‘n Wild Red Red.

I feel like I’ve tested out about 100 different facial wipes lately (OK, more like 5 or 6), and this Nivea Creme Care cloth is definitely the most moisturizing of the bunch. Unfortunately, also like cold cream, it doesn’t leave me feeling really clean after just wiping it off, so I still like to rinse with water. , It’s fairly heavy and absorbs more slowly than I’d like for daytime use, but I love to slather some on at night before bed and let it do its work overnight. I have other nighttime moisturizers that I like the scent of better and am more likely to reach for, but this is a solid product that does a good job at a good price.

As part of the June Nouveau Geek Box (also featuring Stardate 41153.7 from Lollipop Posse Lacquer), I tried out another new to me polish brand, Bohemian Polish. I found the polish to be fine but not super interesting when I used my regular quickdry topcoat, so I decided to test it with matte topcoat as well. The polish is deceptive simple at first glance, but I found it really interesting the more I wore it. This polish was provided by Born Pretty Store for review purposes and when I originally picked it out to review, I was hoping for an iridescent version of a dense flaky polish, or as something that could give a similar effect to shattered glass nails, but without all of the effort.
