HARD PASS ❌⬇️ So much changed when I became a mother. Priorities, goals, worries, my HEART. I couldn’t stand the thought of having to leave my baby to go back to a job. Missing him, worrying how he was being taken care of, not being able to exclusively breastfeed, the ache that would be on both of our hearts, missing moments I could never get back. So we made it work. My husband working hard to take care of us all and me searching for ways for years to contribute financially in the online space. I wanted to help. It’s never felt right to me to have my babies and send them out into the world for someone else to care for as soon as maternity leave ended. If your journey takes a different turn, and you find fulfillment elsewhere, that’s perfectly valid too. This post might not resonate with you. 🤍 But it’s always been important to me to be here for for all the moments. Raising, nurturing, teaching and caring for my children like no one else can, because I am their mother. My husband and I are the ones entrusted by God with their sweet little souls, and I want to be here for all of it. I’ve tried different ‘side hustles,’ from selling on Poshmark and eBay to dabbling into network marketing and falling flat on my face. 😆 I create content for brands and, of course, you see me collaborate with them here too. I’ve squeezed things into pockets of downtime during my boys’ naps and when they’re distracted and playing. And there’s also been plenty of time when I’ve not focused on anything but our family. Ultimately we rely on a single income, and I am endlessly grateful to my husband for working his butt off to provide us with this precious gift of being together at home. It’s not an easy path these days, and it certainly comes with its share of stress. Which is why I’m always searching for ways to contribute from home to lift a bit of that burden from his shoulders. In the end, parents will always find a way. In the middle of the spilled snacks and constant ‘Mom’ calls, I find this strange comfort. I know, you’re probably thinking I’m crazy. 🤪 Yes, it can absolutely be overwhelming at times (please don’t ask me about yesterday 😅) but these messy, noisy moments aren’t just chaos – they’re blessings. Blessings that last for such a brief amount of time. Can you imagine a day when the house is quiet, and we’re not rushing to wipe sticky hands? I picture it too, a future where my tea stays hot, and the only interruptions are the ones I chose. And it makes me SO sad. I’ll miss every second of this phase of life. The good and the really hard. I’ll choose spending time with my boys over keeping them cooped up and watching me clean any day. I don’t love a mess but if I have to choose an area to be my best, it will always be as their mama. 👩‍👦‍👦 We get out of the house often so it’s important to have car seats we love and trust.
