ELF Haul

It glides on the skin nicely, but doesn’t fill pores like Benefit’s Porefessional or Makeup I also needed a new liquid black eyeliner, so I opted for the Intense Ink Eyeliner in Blackest Black. Lastly, the gift with purchase: I am already decluttering two of the items because I know I will never use them. It’s a creamy matte texture and the color will be nice come fall, so I am going to keep it as well.

Netflix Shows You Should Binge Watch

The story centers around a girl who has been missing for years and has been brought home after years being held captive by a scientist. The original “original Netflix series” is entering its fifth season in June, so if you haven’t watched this yet, you better get on it! It’s about Sophia, who created Nasty Gal online retail store, and follows her start up on eBay and the trials she faces opening a business in a man’s world with man’s rules. The politics of the time period come through with Elizabeth’s relationship with Winston Churchill, her sister and her lover, and more.

Labor of Love Project Pan

Today I am introducing a new project pan challenge that I created! I am entitling this the Labor of Love challenge, as I picked items that I really do love, but I have had a hard time in the past panning. I have issues panning lip products and foundation, and I added in a highlighter, which I have never panned! If you’d like to join me in this challenge, pick four items that you love but are having trouble using up, and aim to finish them by Labor Day, which is September 4, 2017.

Transitioning to Green Beauty

I was contacted by Kayla, a representative at consumersafety.org, to share tips on how I plan to transition my collection of beauty products to non-toxic, greener items. So instead of throwing out all that money you spent on conventional beauty products, from both high end and drugstore brands, work on seasonal projects, such as the one I am doing currently: Finish 7 by Spring, to move out non-green beauty items. This won’t be an overnight change, obviously, so it will take time and dedication, but in the end, you won’t feel like you threw your money aware, and you’ll be productive in moving to a more non-toxic collection. While my transition is slow to replace every item I own to more non-toxic items, I am being intentional with the products I am purchasing and paying careful attention to ingredients.
