Blunt banged, and sassy, New Jersey fashion blogger and creator of House Of Jeffers. Mother to fraternal twin boys! Gypsy soul with eccentric style.
While I don’t ever dress the boys in the same outfits on the same day, I do like to pull from the colors in their clothing and coordinate with either of my sons. Landon’s emoji sneakers that I found at The Children’s Place are honestly the coolest. #sorrynotsorry I thought that having boys meant that I wouldn’t be able to play with their style like how mothers to daughters can dress similar. A fun way I like to match to their striped outfits to wear a striped top in contrasting colors.
Since Landon and Nate have been all about coloring books, and are showing signs of wanting to do more of the activity, we planned a trip to the Crayola Experience in Easton, Pa. The boys are 2-1/2, and are at the age where they are starting to grasp on to different activities, so a trip to Crayola meant they could play with color, draw and explore everything rainbow colored. The factory had various types of Crayola markers, crayons, paint – all washable – and even provided multiple stations for parents and their little ones to sit down and be artistic. You will leave with plenty of your child’s artwork like spin art made from melted crayons, a crayon melted in a car or ring, lots of coloring pages and the best of all –
If I have to face the fact that it’s fall, and that my bold and colorful wardrobe gets a little darker, then I’m just going to go with it and wear black and grey a little more. Last year, I wrote a post about my style comfort zone, which at the time, consisted of purchasing and wearing a lot of black… Part of my mom uniform, I love how simple it is to put on a mom shirt, I mean dress shirt, and call it a day. The ruffle revival trend going on in fashion right is one I’m fully supporting as this shirt from Forever 21 is becoming one of my favorites.
Even though I’m a 30-something mom, I don’t feel like I’m a 30-something mom. I certainly don’t dress like my age, and I still love all the things I did in my youth (to an extent), but if anything, having children has made my interests in the things I cherished in my younger years a little stronger, but also, made me feel older in general as an adult who is a parent. And I’m still very young at heart, which explains why I can’t let go of admiration for bright colors and hold on to the joy I get from little things… like rainbow balloons from burton+burton. Raising children is sometimes hard, but full of a lot of happiness, joy and rewarding moments… like when your children run up to you and give you hugs for no reason.
