The past weekend, we have been invited by the Castle Hotel Windsor MGallery to discover why this little town – so famous for its stunning castle – is the perfect destination for International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day. Windsor is a historic market town in Berkshire, home to the widely know Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the British Royal Family

Our meeting point was the Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair, where we all had our coffee fix and a delicious and healthy breakfast together with the group, and where the chauffeurs delivered our Silver Bentley Continental GT to us. Our first stop of the gastronomic tour was the Cotswolds Distillery  – which has been producing craft distilled spirits such as Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky and Cotswolds Dry Gin, with the highest quality ingredients everyday since 2014 in the beautiful setting of the Cotswolds countryside. The menu exclusively featured organic ingredients sourced directly from the farm, and included burrata, heritage tomatoes, mint and grilled sourdough, quiches and salads, charcuterie and cheese boards and lovely homemade desserts. As we knew that our third step consisted in tasting some amazing award winning cheeses, we saved some room more food and proceeded driving towards Alex James’ – former Blur bassist – Oxfordshire farm.

Well, this summer, we had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful Istria, an undiscovered strawberry-shaped peninsula off the northern end of Croatia’s Adriatic coastline. This region has something for everyone, from award-winning beaches to acclaimed gastronomy (prime truffles, fresh seafood and amazing olive oil), and some of Croatia’s most attractive coastal towns. The fishing town of Novigrad, for example, is very popular amongst tourists because of its irresistible Mediterranean charm, while Motovun is a hillside town that very much resembles the beautiful hills of Tuscany. In terms of restaurants, it is definitely worth trying Libeccio restaurant in Novigrad for its delicious seafood and beautiful view over the sea and Lanterna restaurant on St. Andrew Island, which is located in an old castle with a terrace right on the seafront.

The landscape is synonymous with shipwrecks and smugglers, and the spectacular clifftop views look out over Bedruthan Steps, where a rank of colossal, pointed stacks march out of the Atlantic waves against a dramatic backdrop. If you fancy a thermal adventure, you should definitely try the Spa experience at the Bedruthan Hotel, which will help you stimulate your senses in their Sensory Spa Garden and leave you feeling relaxed and cleansed. For all Spa lovers and couples, The Scarlet Hotel and the Bedruthan Hotel on the north coast near Newquay are the places to be, with their clifftop hot tubs, sea views and cosy afternoon cream teas. If you’re looking for breathtaking coastal views over Newquay, the Atlantic Hotel is an excellent option, while if you are more for a cosy romantic retreat in the countryside, the Budock Vean Hotel and Talland Bay are definitely worth checking out.
