We recently got back from our Family Vacay in Cabo San Lucas and the girls have been spending a lot of time asking to see the photos and videos from our trip. Since I’ve been doing a lot of fine motor activities with them lately, I thought why not make it fun and incorporate our recent travel photos? So the fine motor aspect of this project is the peeling and placing of stickers, stamping with the ink stamps and gluing on the small objects (like seashells). We used regular school glue to paste the shells and glue stick to paste on the photos.
All I’ve ever heard about IEP’s (individualized education plans) from other moms is how difficult they are. I was prepared to have to fight for resources for my daughter, so my husband and I met with an Education Advocate/ Lawyer. If you have an upcoming IEP and don’t have access to an advocate, check out these tips! It’s a good idea to let someone else review it (occupational therapist, speech therapist, etc.)
I’ve been looking for fine motor activities for the girls and I want to share one of the more recent crafts we’ve done: pipe cleaner crowns! Twisting and bending the pipe cleaners and stringing the beads helps build fine motor skills. This part may take the longest, but stringing beads is great for building fine motor skills! We also like to use Therapy Putty to work on improving fine motor skills in a fun way at home.
I’ve never been big on St. Patrick’s Day, so I didn’t have any ideas There’s a tiny garden behind the girls classroom where they grow flowers and vegetables and they love walking through it before class. The leprechaun hid a pot of chocolate gold coins and shamrock cookies behind for the kids to enjoy until the next St. Patricks Day! Hope you enjoyed the photos and come up with ideas of your own for St. Paddy’s Day!
