Just looking at these photos really takes you back to that point in time and how clothing was very important even during a time of such deprivation. Clothing would be hard to come by during the Second World War and people really did have to make do with upcycling old garments and making do with the clothing they already had and being all-around creative
Last weekend Kyle and I decided to book a long weekend stay in Haymarket, Edinburgh for our 10th Anniversary/Engagement. Hotels in Edinburgh aren't hard to come by and with huge variations in price! We opted for something mid-range as we normally do when visiting the city! Nothing overly luxurious but not entirely basic either! I always make sure to search through a booking website to find the best match/price and compare between hotels/apartments
It's a lengthy process and highly enjoyable once you begin the process of becoming more AWARE of the clothes you are wearing every day and the majority contain high levels of pesticides and chemicals from the dyes and various substances used to make the clothing you wear day in, day out. You might ask the question as to where you can find NATURAL fabrics at a more affordable price - compared to big online retailers (not going to name names) to your high street stores that don't offer natural substitutes and only mass-produced garments to keep up with consumer demand that is highly impacting the environment on a global scale. Organic cotton needn't be expensive, my favourite organic cotton online store at the moment is a brand called Ninety Percent, a premium brand that donates 90% of its profits back to an organisation of your choice! Please do your research when it comes to investing in expensive garments that are labelled as Wool in the title and check the Details OR Wear and Care section on the website for the particular piece you're interested in buying to see the percentage of what fabric the garment is made from!
The weather's been more than incredible (actually mind-blowing) and I just love how simple these sandals from SENSO are but they also look super chic paired with more casual pieces and the tie-up detailing really stands out for summer time. It actually feels like being back in Florida again it's that HOT here!!
