When I was pregnant with Zoe, I would call my mom with questions about being pregnant, about her experience and stories about raising my brother and I, and all the million questions that a pregnant/new mom would typically have. I specifically remember asking her how did I learn to love books so much? How did they imbibe the passion for reading in me
I also saw some really good shows, movies, read AN ENTIRE book, added a few new beauty favorites to my routine and ofcourse have new podcast shows that I loved and can’t wait to share with you. We could talk about podcast shows, our favorite episodes, favorite hosts, what we liked, what we dint like, discuss them in detail… ahhh so exciting! It is in a Marathi language movie and although I’ve lost touch with the language now ( studied the language in school ) – I liked the concept of the story – portraying the story of a woman who all her life has been an ideal wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law and pretty content with that life, but then how an incident changes her perspective in life.
Being a mom doesn’t mean that you have to go parading in front of people in dirty hair or milk stained clothes. But, I remember some of my colleagues who were moms (I wasn’t at that time) complain how luxurious it must feel to have the time in the world to get ready and how chaotic their lives were, that picking whatever came in their hands was the way of getting ready. Why is there judgement around being dressed-up and implied that she has the luxury of time, doesn’t have responsibilities, must not be smart, must be frivolous about work? Would you believe a man dressed in rags versus a man dressed in a suit when you ask for directions on the street?
The reason I was slacking on the gallery wall is because I was actually afraid of taking up a gallery wall project. Anyway, I really wanted to decorate the wall with frames and took upon the project to figure out the code behind gallery walls – and if I couldn’t crack the code, create one! // picking out the theme of the frames Since the frames are for the playroom, the overall theme I wanted to go with – colorful, fun and telling a story. Honestly, considering how intimidated I was of taking up a gallery art project, I was really enjoying the process of creating it, getting creative and dint care so much about it looking like a magazine image, but more of something that reflects what I was going for.
