A travel blog to inspire others to get out and explore the beautiful world we live in. Forget someday and do what you can to make your dreams happen now! We focus on small towns, road trips, and outdoor adventures.
We were actually pretty excited about the opportunities presented because we were able to rediscover places we’d been to before (California’s central coast and the Olympic Peninsula in Washington) and got to check out new-to-us places we’ve always wanted to visit, like Oregon! Since we’ve been staying mostly stateside for the past 2-3 years, we simply purchased a US plan that has a national network of providers (through Florida Blue – Blue Cross/Blue Shield), though our son’s coverage (Medicaid) is only good within the state of Florida. I’m ashamed to admit that once Rowan came along, I simply didn’t keep up with them, but you can check out 2015 & 2016 which covers our first two years on the road and some super fun memories (like epic road trips, wildlife encounters, cruises, visiting medieval villages, island hopping, Christmas markets and so much more). We’re still not at a place in our hearts or financially where we’re ready to settle down, but we’re in a much better place than we were say, two and a half years ago when we were beyond stressed trying to figure out how to sustain this life with our new little addition.
(It’s probably one of – 111-mile (179 km) drive around the Iveragh Peninsula with several notable stops and attractions (It’s probably one of Ireland’s most popular scenic drives .) Muckross House & Abbey, Ross Castle, and Torc Waterfall (We’ve now visited all 6 of Ireland’s National Parks .) A 92-mile (148 km) drive around the peninsula crosses Healy Pass & offers superb scenic views ( – A 92-mile (148 km) drive around the peninsula crosses Healy Pass & offers superb scenic views None Ballintoy Harbor (pictured below)- A small fishing harbor at the end of a small, narrow, steep road down Knocksaughey Hill; stunning coastal views So, as you can see, there are plenty of stunning places to visit in Ireland.
And if you want more information about Dublin’s multi-day St Paddy’s Day festival, check out their official website. Even with only 8 gates and roughly 10 airlines servicing Cork Airport, it is Ireland’s 2nd busiest airport (when not considering Belfast’s two airports in Northern Ireland). If you plan to explore Northern Ireland on your visit to the Emerald Isle, you may want to consider flying into Belfast International, the island’s second largest airport, behind Dublin. Stops include Busaras (Dublin’s main bus station), O’Connell Street (city center), Heuston (one of Dublin’s main train stations), and more!
Another great kid-friendly waterfall hike in Deschutes National Forest is Tumalo Falls. Because Tumalo Falls is within the national forest boundary, be sure to have your forest pass before making the several mile drive down the long dirt road (Tumalo Falls Road – Forest Road 4603). And while downtown, pop in to the Bend Visitor Information Center at the corner of Oregon Avenue and Lava Road to pick up free maps, guide, and get advice about more things to do in the area. Once you’ve experienced all things to do in Bend with kids, you may want to head just outside of the city for more fun kid-friendly destinations!
