We all laughed when the checkout lady asked when I was due and I said I was two weeks overdue...seeing people's faces when I said that never got old. I told him I didn't want to call because my contractions weren't very long (but they were one right after the other) and she'd probably make me come in to be checked. I said, "I can't get dressed, I can't get off the toilet! " I hadn't decided ahead of time if I for sure wanted a water birth, I thought I'd go with what my body wanted in the moment.
