My Favorite Workout Clothes!

They don’t have any pretty little details and they don’t even have pockets, but somehow I just love them so much and keep reaching for them when I head to the gym. I bought that tank a couple years ago, so it’s not available on their website anymore, but it’s been just a great basic tank that goes with anything. It’s really supportive, I love the cute straps and it’s really flattering (not that anyone really sees it, but still! ) It’s actually a high impact sports bra which surprised me because most high impact sports bras I’ve seen look more grandmother-ly.

Goals + Healthy Thought Processes

On the flip-side, when I’m in an “up” spot, it’s because I’m consistently striving to make a lot of good choices! It’s not a fancy app, it’s very basic, but I just love that it allows me to identify my goals, check them off each day and see how I’m doing over time. My goals like taking my vitamins and drinking lemon water every day are things I hope and would like to think are helping me, but it’s hard to really know! * I always remind myself that when I’m tempted to give into cravings (usually in the form of sugar) it’s usually because I’m hungry!

I think it’s so important to take a step back, take a long, hard, objective look at our lives, and remember WHY we want to be healthy, WHY we want to make the effort, WHY we want to lose weight and WHY it is worth the effort and sacrifice! I do feel a need to mention that if those “motivational pictures” were taken at a time when you weren’t necessarily living a healthy or sustainable lifestyle, it might be better NOT to use those pictures. There have been SO MANY times in my life when I know I need to shape up, eat better, take better care of my body and lose a little weight. I also feel a need to say that some would question why I’d ever eat the cruddy stuff when I know it makes me feel sick and isn’t good for me? ?

Wolff-Parkinson-White is basically an extra small pathway in the heart that causes the heart to have an irregular beat. He’s been monitored over the years and actually 4 1/2 years ago we went to the hospital to get this exact surgery done. They put him out, put catheters into his heart to do the surgery, tested his heart and then decided that his case wasn’t severe enough to complete the surgery! Oh, and since this is a health blog, I will share that I was glad to find a healthy Greek salad in the hospital cafeteria and I also brought some healthy snacks to tide us over throughout the day (apples, sweet potato chips and rotisserie chicken.)
