Nesa & Joe’s distinctly unique cultures made for a wedding celebration imbued with layers of meaningful cultural elements – Nesa is Iranian, while Joe is Alaskan of Irish decent. Built more than 100 years ago in Washington, DC it is considered to be the captial city most fashionable mansion – a Florentine villa in the misdst of American indendence. ← back to blog An epic rooftop rehearsal dinner we planned and designed at Rockefeller Center, featuring custom lavender mirrored tables and art deco lantern globes. We had lots of fun with a garden-inspired color palette and pattern play on the striped and damask chairs and floral menus. If you’ve caught the latest season of Real Housewives of Potomac, you’ve probably spotted former Miss United States, Candiace Dillard—and the sparkling diamond on that finger. We recently helped the reality TV star trade a pageant gown for a wedding gown when she tied the knot with restaurateur Chris Bassett. We love designing in this space – this time, a modern and glam gold mirrored arch was draped in lush greenery and soft white blooms. A custom, antiqued mercury glass aisle treatment was edged with white roses in gold boxes, and beaded chandeliers were framed with white rosebud stands.
First look in the passages of Washington National Cathedral: In addition to designing her own gown, Amelia also designed the bridesmaids saffron, magenta and and vermillion gowns which were finished with hand-embroidered jasmine flowers. Amelia also designed the Indian-inspired choker with freshwater pearls, which she wore for all 3 ceremonies (DC, India + Dubai.) The bride’s family has ties to Washington’s National Cathedral, and was involved when it was first built in the early 1900’s…making the ceremony location extra special. Rustic wood tones mixed with sheer fabrics, ethnic vessels, gilded metals, and exotic greens for an elegant, global-inspired look.
