A style, food and beer and wine blog for the gal who loves to try new places with a dose of style
For some time now, many of you know I’ve been taking long breaks between blogging, figuring out what to do with Brunchinista and most recently navigating through my life as a single girl in a new city. As someone who is extremely career oriented, trying to find the right job in Oregon was one of the biggest challenges I’ve had to face in my entire life. I’m excited to embark on this new journey and am lucky to have made new friends in this new city already who have a love for beer, brunch and doing all the things. It’s funny that even at 31 everything you may have thought about yourself can really hit you right in your face and stop you in your tracks to not only remind you of you really are, but to also humble you in life so you can appreciate the good when it’s there.
For those of you who didn’t know, this past weekend, Mother’s opened it’s new location in downtown Portland. With all of mother’s original touches, the new space will be able to seat more guests and share the love of mother’s dishes for all local and new lovers of brunch. We ordered the Wild Salmon Hash, Classic Eggs Benedict and a Belgian Waffle with whipped cream and bananas. The new Mother’s Bistro is located at 121 SW Third Avenue (at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Downtown.
As someone who is always on the hunt for new places to try in Eugene, I was excited to find out that that there was a new spot in South Eugene to try for brunch, Viking Braggot. If you live on the South side, I’m sure you’ve noticed that there aren’t a ton of places to have good breakfast food. So, if you love a good braggot (beer and fermented honey) and are looking for a place to enjoy breakfast food, this is the newest weekend brunch you have to try. It’s hard for me to want to order a mimosa (bleh headaches) or a Bloody Mary ( hello I’m drunk half way through) without feeling like I’m too old to be drinking for breakfast.
It’s been quite some time where I’ve taken the time to write a full post that comes straight from the heart. Maybe I was having a quarter life blogger crisis or maybe I became too fixated on these little minute details that don’t matter, but after I did it, I felt liberated. I think I’m going to continue to write, I’m going to continue to post, occasionally, because I do love sharing stories with all of you loyal readers. I’d honestly love to spend more time actually blogging than thinking about what my next Instagram post is going to be.
