March Budget Recap

The goal is to cut my family's eating out budget in half for the next 6 months, and cut our clothing budget to $200 per month. "I'm not going to lie, our April eating out budget is probably going to be really bad, because we're packing and moving. Budget: $200Spent $323Items purchased included swimsuits for my kids from Hanna Andersson ($127), a few outfits for the kids and Alex for upcoming family photos ($90), swimsuit from Land's End for me ($85), and two camisole tops from Cotton On ($21). I'm going to go over my budget in April because I want to get a few outfits for the blogger conference I'm speaking at.

Pushing Through Fear At Work

I don't know anyone who hasn't experienced fear in the workplace. I wouldn't say I'm a perfectionist, but I do NOT like letting people down especially my boss and co-workers. I remember crying and thinking I wouldn't get through a tough time at work, but I always did. I also advise getting a mentor that can help you see the bigger picture, and can give you advice on how advance in your career and work through tough situations at work.

We Bought A House!

I messaged Stephanie two houses I wanted to look at in a neighborhood 7 miles north of where we live which is in Then one day I started looking at homes outside our zip code. We decided on the drive home from Cedar Park we would put an offer on the Georgetown house. The next day our realtor got to work negotiating and ultimately we got the home for $10k less than asking and they threw in some blinds ; ). Honestly building or renovating a home doesn't seem like fun to me, so the fact that this home was everything we wanted and had just been finished was perfect timing!

House Hunting

Our kitchen is our least favorite part of the home as it's pretty small and not great for entertaining. Our plan was to take out a home improvement loan, move out of our home and renovate (kitchen, living room, flooring, trim, guest bathroom, popcorn ceilings). And then I was driving home from work one day and saw a new development sign in a beautiful green area directly next to our neighborhood. The home had everything we wanted...perfect location (we could walk to our old neighborhood and see our friends), a block from the elementary, the space, the layout, the kitchen for entertaining, office, dining room, on a culdesac, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and DIRECT access to the neighborhood pool, park and hiking trail.
