Banana & Berry Smoothie Bowl

Social media has been taken by a new trend in healthy eating and a super Instagram worthy dish... Move over avocado on toast, say hello to the smoothie bowl! Having fallen for the mouth watering pictures of overflowing bowls full of berries, seeds and green goodness, I just had to try making one for myself... I then added a little milk, honey, peanut butter and chia seeds before blending further. Once all blended I poured the smoothie into a large bowl and added the toppings, starting with the lightest ones first so they didn't sink too much before I could take a snap of the finished product.

Interiors

It's been six months since we moved into our first home, and although it only feels like yesterday I am amazed at how much we have managed to do in the house to make it feel like home. The first thing we did was take up the old carpet and painted the walls a natural colour which immediately made the room feel more open and airy. We chose these sofas from Next in a neutral grey colour to make the room feel contemporary and cosy, I was able to bring a little colour into the room with fun cushions from Etsy. I was a little overwhelmed at the size to start as I wasn't sure what to fill it with but once we bought our table and rug it brought the room together and started to feel a lot cosier.

Brushlettering Wall Art

The pens I used had two nib choices, I chose to use the larger pointed nib for my work as I thought it would give the best brush effect. To start I tested my brush out on some scrap paper, this allowed me to see how the brush handles and the amount of pressure I could use. My technique involved creating a thin line first by using the tip of the brush, then forming the rest of the letter by using the side of the brush in a quicker sweeping motion. Think about it in degrees, I started at at 90 degrees to the paper and when I wanted a thicker line moved the brush to about 45 degrees to the paper.
