It’s hard to believe we’re nearing the end of April already, and with it comes the celebration of Easter! I shared Sophie’s first Easter basket last year in this post, when she was only about 5 months old. I’ve already had even more fun with her basket this year, simply because there are more “interactive” items in her basket, like books or educational games! I originally debated about whether or not to give Sophie an Easter basket, since I don’t want the holiday to become materialistic to her as she grows up
It’s been a couple months since the last Sophie update, so I’m excited to share one today! Our sweet girl is a year and a half today! Can you believe it? Every day, she’s acting less and less like a baby and more like a little kid! (It makes me savor those pre-nap cuddle sessions extra these days. ) Her most recent updates, if you’d like to catch up: 12 Month Update and 16 Month Update 🙂 Here’s what Solveig’s been up to lately: Nicknames: BeeBee, Missy Lucy (no idea where I got that one), BeeBee Bonnet (still no idea, haha), Bunny, and more! And I guess technically Sophie, since her full name is Solveig
The sun shone for most of Saturday, so we brought Sophie over to my in-laws’ farm and she got to try out her new rain boots in the farm yard! As I watched her run around happily, it struck me that the last time the weather was this warm (last fall), she wasn’t even walking much yet! : Sophie-girl now gets to walk around like a big girl and enjoy being outside from a whole new vantage point! It’s a real joy to have places like this just minutes from us, and I’m so glad that Sophie’s childhood gets to look like this.
Even playing the first 30 seconds of that playlist gets me in a more peaceful, calm mood – which is why it’s perfect for slowing down in the evening after a long day! Recently, I curated a special first-day-of-spring playlist with songs that are a little more energetic! I sent it out to my email subscribers last week (sign up if you like to be the first to know things like that! ) as a celebration on the first official day of spring. These songs are my way of celebrating spring: the promise of new life, new starts, warmth, and that fresh hint of sunshine joy.
