There’s still a part of me that’s slightly terrified taking two boys out by myself, anywhere. Z is always a delight on his own

I am sure he will love it as he talks non stop (he’s taken to telling me about his dreams about 3am when he’s woken from them. All of a sudden we’ve had two big weddings thrown into the year and, if you count big birthdays and holidays, then it feels like most of the year has been planned out already. I quite like having something to look forward to, and a close family wedding is always very lovely. It is so good to get back to routine again but wouldn’t it be lovely if January was a phased transition to school and work?

It’s been weeks and weeks and weeks since I’ve blogged as mental work and the Christmas period took over our lives and my blog went by the wayside. Then my domain came up for renewal and I panicked about losing my 8 year old blog completely and frantically spent New Year’s Eve trying to get my expired domain back. It was SO nice to finally switch off from big work things and just eat and spend time with my boys, friends and family. I went to work and then lots more quiet days of doing not so much and days of some epic decluttering.

I’m not a big fan of cold weather and I dislike the clock change and dark days even more. It took me quite some time to appreciate the golden colours of the season and the crunchy leaves everywhere. They really don’t care if it’s cold or windy or darker than a summers day, as long as they get to run around like crazy. So that’s exactly what we’ve been doing alongside finding different museums we can pop into to.
