Ramadan Story Circles

I initially wanted to use those to come up with some Ramadan story stones, but they weren’t large enough and large, smooth rocks are really expensive! You can make them sequential to follow a story, or use abstract illustrations, or use them to convey facts (like I’m doing with these Ramadan story circles). I decided to use wooden circles instead so that I could get the image across clearly without having to skimp on details. To create these Ramadan story circles, all you’ll need are some wooden circles, a pencil, my printable (if you’d like to copy the same illustrations)

How to have a productive Ramadan with your spouse

This post is a collaboration with Gilded Dunya – please pop over to her blog to read her post with even more helpful advice! We’re approximately 30 days away from Ramadan 2018 insha’Allah and there are a plethora of blog posts, YouTube videos and the like that talk about Ramadan activities for children and how to teach them about Ramadan, which is lovely (I’ve recorded videos about this myself recently) but what I’d like to focus on in this post is how to have a productive Ramadan with your spouse. There is a lot of focus on the children all throughout the day or after they’re home from school, but when they’re in bed and Iftaar is already prepared, the focus should shift to spending time with your spouse

Sensory calm down bottles that your toddler can make!

My toddlers assembled the bottles and all I did was seal them, so this is a fantastic activity to do with children at home especially when the weather isn’t great. this is optional, but if you want this to be a ‘calm down’ jar, i.e. – they sit and watch items settle and separate, then you’ll want to have the oil. we used mini dinosaurs, loom bands, pipe cleaners cut into quarters, pom poms and some water beads Round up your troops and lay out all the items you’re using Starting with the oil first (if you’re using it), fill your jar about 1/4 of the way with oil. All that’s left to do now is to use a glue gun or even printed duct tape to seal the jars to protect yourself from inquisitive fingers that will open them up and cause chaos!

Easy onion tomato masala

If you follow me on Instagram, you will know I recently made a few dietary changes and savoury porridge is my new favourite breakfast. The recipe I found required sautéing some onions and a little tomato along with some spices and that was lovely, but I knew that if I had to do it every day, I’d most likely end up going back to eating toast
