Did you know Missouri is not only known as the #showmestate but also the cave state! 🤗 With around 6,300 caves in our state, it has become one of our favorite weekend activities to get out of the house and get some fresh air and do some exploring.❤️ A couple weeks ago, we set out to a new cave we have never been to and it didn’t disappoint! @starkcaverns in Eldon MO. we loved your cave and the tour was great. We spotted our first bumble bee today and our first frog yesterday. I’d say spring is right around the corner. 🤗🌸🐛 Today was such a beautiful day. “Find the beauty in everything.” Fun snow/cold weather activity for you 🤗 We decided to freeze my Valentine’s Day bouquet in some bread pans and bowls and add some paint. They turned out so pretty! 🌸 It’s crazy the excitement and fun kids have when just doing something simple as this and getting some hands on play when they’ve been stuck inside. Gentle reminder that it doesn’t have to be perfect mama for your kids to have a blast. Just do your best and be creative with what you already have. 😘 Any quality time spent with them is perfect in their eyes. Some other fun ideas we’ve tried recently: Bring the snow indoors and let your kids have at it in some large bowls/bins, snow ice cream, and melt some old crayons into some mold or muffin tins. 👍 Let me know if you try any of these. January Total: 17/1000 My favorite day this month was when it warmed up briefly and we spent several hours skipping rocks in our creek and made a fort 🥰 I’m loving this challenge thus far. “Beautiful snow surrounding us, we walked hand in hand down our beloved nature trail that lies behind our cozy home. The trees once green and filled with life, now dormant and resting, seemed to shiver as the cold winter breeze blew past us all. I couldn’t help but smile thinking of the life we’ve built thus far and the little life growing inside me. I feel grateful. I feel at ease. I feel happy. Nature always seems to do that for me. I think I’ll make a bigger effort this year to spend as much time outside as possible.” A little excerpt from my journal. 🥰 we have decided to do the @1000hoursoutside challenge this year and I’m so excited at how our year is starting out. I feel like in past years, we probably reached that or came close, but it’s a fun thing to track and make sure we are spending as much time outside as possible. Nature heals and it’s calling us, I only hope my babies hear it too. ❤️

Being absent from social media has been really letting my mind rest and be distracted from the mess and noise going on around us, but I woke up today with an urge to post and update everyone on how we’re doing so here I am. I have been feeling uneasy over the past year honestly about several things not only going on in the world around us, but going on within me. I need to work on and focus on several things that I want to improve and I’ve decided this year to take as much time needed off of here to revert that time back to working on those things if that makes sense? I will still be on from time to time with small updates about what we are up to etc. but this year I have decided to really take it slow and work on being my best self and to really work on the slow, intentional life I believe in so strongly and strive for and to be as present as possible with my family who means more than anything to me ❤️ So until next time, here are some pictures we’ve taken so far in January and the beautiful ice. Winter isn’t my favorite season by far, but I’m so trying to find the beauty in it and Gods creations and plan that you can see in every situation if you just shut your mind off, look away from the screens, and look around you 😘
